Mergers between European exchanges have helped them withstand the pull of New York, according to Euronext's chief executive, while Brexit has left London's capital markets "isolated".

The City's capital markets have been rocked by a host of departures in recent months, including commodities clearer Marex, while just five floats chose the London Stock Exchange in the third quarter amid the slowest UK IPO market in more than a decade.
