FCA publishes summary of review into RBS’s restructuring unit

City regulator has bowed to pressure and released a summary of its investigation into the treatment of SMEs by the bank's Global Restructuring Group

FCA publishes summary of review into RBS’s restructuring unit

The UK's financial watchdog has published an interim summary of the results of its independent review into Royal Bank of Scotland's controversial Global Restructuring Group, after coming under pressure to release the full findings of the investigation.

RBS's restructuring unit was set up in 2005 but its workload increased sharply following the financial crisis. The UK bank disbanded the group in 2013 after complaints that the unit sought to profit by putting struggling companies out of business.
