Glimmer of life returns to commission recapture

While some say an old City favourite has returned, most are still shunning the practice

Commission recapture, an obscure but once flourishing part of the investor services industry, is enjoying a minor resurgence after several years out of the limelight.

Two providers of recapture programmes report that, although there has been a backdrop of declining use for a number of years, they are seeing a resurgence in some parts of the business, particularly in the US.
