Goldman and JPMorgan attacked for absence from UK gender code

The UK government's champion for diversity in financial services has taken a veiled swipe at Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan over their failure to commit to the country's Women in Finance Charter.

The criticism from Jayne-Anne Gadhia, the chief executive of Virgin Money, came as the banks' Wall Street rival Citigroup made a commitment to increasing the number of women in its senior ranks in Europe over the coming years.
