The new chief sustainability officer for £532bn asset manager Abrdn’s investment business, Amanda Young, has seen environmental, social and governance investing go from obscurity to centre stage during her 20-year career in the space.

Young, who joined Abrdn from Newton Investment Management as head of responsible investment in 2013, and was later promoted to global head in 2018, cut her teeth at charity fund manager CCLA Investment Management, where she was an analyst.
