City brokers have thrown their weight behind calls for the government to force pension funds to allocate more of their assets to UK equities.

Executives and analysts have told Financial News that mandating a 10% investment in domestic companies could provide a much-needed boost to Britain’s economy and stock market, with some criticising the government’s current focus.
