City investment bank Shore Capital is in the midst of a push into the UK oil and gas sector as larger rivals have scaled back their commitments in favour of teams that focus on the clean energy transition.

The UK-focused investment bank has hired a team of dealmakers, sales and research staff from bigger rivals recently as it looks to capitalise on what senior staff have described as an “underserved” sector.
