Uber has appointed a banking veteran as chairman of its UK operations, to bolster its governance as the ride-hailing firm appeals a decision by London’s top transport regulator to revoke its operating license, writes Sam Schechner at The Wall Street Journal .
The company said on Friday that Laurel Powers-Freeling, a former senior adviser to the Bank of England who has significant experience as a company director, would help it implement changes at its UK operations. The move is part of a broader shift of company culture under new chief executive, Dara Khosrowshahi.
