UK court ruling favours PE investors

Investors in private equity could be given the chance to access swathes of previously confidential information about the funds with which they invest

Investors in private equity could be given the chance to access swathes of previously confidential information about the funds with which they invest, following a recent UK court ruling.

A UK High Court ruling last month, in a case known as Inversiones Frieira v Colyzeo Investors II, could have significant implications for private equity firms. Investors, which are typically provided with information on deals by private equity firms, could now be able to demand greater transparency, especially from more secretive managers, in the future.
